A good site however a bit more information on the role of witnesses in criminal law would be useful, for example does a court witness get their expenses covered whilst giving evidence? Do I have to give evidence if requested?
This resource is useful but I would like to see more information regarding the availability of legal aid and who qualifies to receive it. For instance, what is the earnings threshold before I can get legal aid? Can it affect the decision if there is some dispute as to who was as fault? Eg – In the event of a car accident?
I would like to know how the system works in relation to expats who wish to pursue a claim in the small claims court – Is it essential that the claimant appears in person or can a Solicitor appear on their behalf? If it is imperative that the claimant is present do the flight costs and associated expenses get added to the claim?
